SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Antiochos III ‘the Great’, 222-187 BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 3.51 g, 12 h), Ekbatana. Diademed head of Antiochos III to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ANTIOXOY Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow in his right hand and resting his left on grounded bow; to upper right, monogram of ΞΑ. SC 1236.6g. Extremely rare. A lovely piece of charmingly crude style. Very fine.
